a little bit about my career

Ewa with Tabitha

I have been working as a veterinarian since my graduation from Texas A&M in 2000. I started at Rutherford Veterinary Hospital in downtown Dallas and worked there for a couple of years. I joined McKinney Animal Hospital in April of 2002 and still work there today. I have watched it grow from a 3 doctor to a 5 doctor practice. It's been a very exciting experience. At this time, I work with my primary veterinary technician, Jennifer T. She's my friend and the best support at work I could have. I don't know what I'd do without her. It's her kitty, Tabitha, that I'm holding in the picture to the left. I hope that she'll stick around for a long time, so I don't have to break another technician in anytime soon.

Ewa's education

I finished veterinary school in 2000. I had the honor to join the profession on May 12, 2000, when I walked across the stage in Rudder Auditorium on the Texas A&M campus. It was a very hectic day and an end to a very long educational career. In 1991, I graduated from South Garland High School in Garland, Texas. I graduated as the salutatorian of my high school class (498 graduates), an accomplishment I am proud of to this day. In the fall of 1991, I joined the freshman class of the University of Notre Dame. I was honored to be a University Scholar, but I did not enjoy my experience in the cold reaches of Indiana. Therefore, I decided to transfer to Texas A&M University which was much closer to home and a lot warmer. I graduated from A&M in May of 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in zoology. After graduation I took a year off from school to work at a veterinary clinic in Richardson, Texas to get the experience in the field I so badly needed to get into vet school. In the fall of 1996, I happily entered the halls of the Texas A&M Veterinary School. I enjoyed my time at A&M very much from an educational standpoint and Bryan/College Station is not a bad place to party either.

I highly recommend veterinary medicine to anyone who is interested in the sciences and medicine in general. I had always wanted to be a medical doctor, but found sick people very difficult to be around when I did an Explorer's program while in high school. I'm just glad that I found veterinary medicine, so that I could pursue my dream of being a doctor.
